Family Eats

Brighton has more restaurants than anywhere outside London, so you shouldn’t have difficulty finding somewhere to eat.

But if you have family in tow it can be helpful to know what sort of places cater for kids.

Here area few ideas to get you started.

Go Italian in the Brighton Lanes

Most kids love pizza and pasta. If you wander around the South Lanes you’ll find an extensive range of good value Italian restaurants, many of which offer fixed price menus, kids meals and pre-theatre deals.

Join the café culture

Life in Brighton is very laid back, so cafes are often a good option for a light snack or lunchtime sandwich. You’ll find loads of funky cafes in the centre and along the beachfront, as well as into Hove and Kemptown.

Visit a wholefood deli

There are a great range of healthy wholefood and deli stores around the city, especially in the Lanes and North Laine area, offering takeaway treats that won't break the bank.

Try Maugherman's Deli for bowls of hot fresh pasta with sauce for around £3 a pop.

Kids Go Free deals

We've always got lots of exclusive offers available on VisitBrighton. So keep an eye on our special offers page for great restaurant deals where the kids often go for free.

Head down the Brighton beach for a beach BBQ

If its sunny, there's nothing better than a BBQ with friends or family on the beach. Watch the starlings over the West Pier, or check out many of the water sport activities taking place on the water, whilst you tuck into a juicy burger.

Please always check the Brighton and Hove Council website for beach BBQ guidelines before taking a BBQ onto the beach.

Have a picnic

If its sunny, head down to Brighton beach or one of Brighton and Hove’s green spaces for a picnic. There are lots of large supermarkets and smaller quick stop options, as well as takeaway sandwich bars dotted around the city. So its easy to grab a ready made sandwich or a baguette and some tasty fillings for your very own beachfront banquet.
