Family Favourites

A photo of rays at Brighton Sea Life Centre.

Brighton is great for families. Where else can you ride a SuperBooster on a Pier, take an electric railway along the beach, check out a badger that inspired a character in The Chronicles of Narnia and make a splash at a beachfront paddling pool?

Here are some of Brighton’s best loved family favourites.

Brighton Pier

One of the best Victorian piers in the country, Brighton Pier offers loads of family restaurants, cafes, rides and arcades to keep kids big and small entertained. For a real adrenaline rush don’t miss the Superbooster ride.

Brighton Sea Life Centre

The Brighton Sea Life Centre offers a fun and educational family day out whatever the weather. With over 150 species and 57 displays, you will be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable day for the whole family. Don’t miss the new Amazonian Adventure.

The Royal Pavilion

The spectacular seaside palace of the Prince Regent (George IV), transformed by John Nash between 1815 and 1822, is one of the most dazzling and exotic buildings in the British Isles. A great educational day out for the kids that Mums and Dads can enjoy too.

Brighton Toy and Model Museum

An Aladdin's cave of toys and models for all ages, tucked beneath the ornate arches of Brighton station, Brighton Toy and Model Museum offers over 4000 square foot of toys and models. Expect trains, boats, dolls, domestic toys, puppets and planes.

The Volks Railway

Give the kids a treat on Britain's oldest working electric railway. Running for one and a quarter miles along the top of the beach, from the Aquarium Station near Brighton Pier to the Marina, trains run every 15 minutes throughout the summer.

Foredown Tower

A beautifully converted Victorian water tower, home to the only operational camera obscura in the South East, Foredown Tower is another popular choice for families. The viewing gallery gives outstanding views over the surrounding countryside and you’ll also find a weather station, interactive computers, countryside data and astronomy events.

Preston Manor

Check out the servants' quarters and hall, butlers' pantry, boot hall, kitchen, head housemaids' and personal maids' rooms in this beautiful Edwardian Manor House. For hardy kids, ghost tours of the house are also often available.

Brighton Marina

From film and bowling to virtual golf, boat trips, family friendly cafes and restaurants, Brighton Marina makes a great day out for all the family.
